Family Fun in St. George: Fiesta Fun!

Fun for the Whole Family

By Gwendolyn Dattage, Editor and Publisher Macaroni Kid St. George August 12, 2019

I am always looking for fun activities and events in St. George and all of Southern Utah for my family to do! AND I am pretty picky when it comes to finding a place that my whole family enjoys, that will not be exhausting and stressful! Because, let's be honest, how fun is it to have a family night out when your kids are crying, your stressed about them bothering someone,  you have long wait lines, I could go on and on.... No stress places to take your kids that are inexpensive are every moms dream!

Let me tell you, dreams do come true! My husband and I have found a great go-to place that we love to take our kids to. Fiesta Fun has climbed up our list of go to places to take the kids!

This is why. First off, their employees are seriously so nice! They are always kind to my kids and they talk to them while they are getting onto the rides. They genuinely don't care if I am that mom that takes a million pictures of my kid sitting in a car, if my kid asks them 5 million questions, or if I can't figure out how to use my card. (True story, I couldn't figure out how to start one of the kiddie rides in the arcade area with the card that you put money on. I asked for help and they politely showed me how to do it without making me feel dumb. Although, I seriously was... I am going to chalk that one up to no sleep)!

You guys! How did I not know about this place for the longest time! We love this place because there is so much to do, no one gets bored, and there is space for the kids to move around! Now... your thinking, your kids are toddlers! What can they even do? My answer: Plenty! We always do the kiddie karts over and over and over! My kids can do the bowling, the arcade games and rides (the duck ride is their favorite), mini golf, be a passenger on the bumper boats, and of course the kiddie karts! Now, my baby can't do all this, but he loves watching sister from the gate and riding on the ducks inside. There is also a "soft play" that he loves, and is perfect for any of the little kids!

Now, for the older ones (myself and husband included), they have all those things as well as laser tag, go karts, and batting cages! Honestly, there really is something for everyone to do.

When going in the evening, we used to go to dinner and then head over to Fiesta Fun. Notice, I said "we used to". After trying the food there we just skip going out to eat and eat when we get there! Fiesta Fun has a cute little restaurant with booths for us to all sit together. The food is yummy and there is always something for everyone. It makes it easy to eat and have fun all at one place.

Fiesta Fun started out as a mini golf course in 1993. Their mini golf course isn’t the cleshay one you see on tv with a windmill that you try to hit your ball through. Their course was actually designed to play more like an actual golf course. Later, they added a go kart track, batting cages, bumper boats, driving range, and of course the “old building” which is now Fiesta Fright. The facility was purchased by its current owners Brett and Kris Crockett in 2002.

Aubrey Goodman, over marketing and special events, started working originally at the facility as a “kitchen girl”. She said, "It was always really funny to have people come upstairs and say “WOW! You guys a have food?” Then they’d try our pizza and again be surprised its quality was far better than they thought." (People were always comparing them to Chuck E Cheese. Luckily it's a good comparison since their pizza isn’t plastic).

If you have been to Fiesta Fun you will see two buildings. The old building is where they host the Fiesta Fright (more on that later) and the new building opened in March of 2015. They grew so much that year going from on average 12 employees to now 60-80 employees. They added 2 story laser tag areas, 20 lanes of bowling, a full service restaurant (This is where we love to eat!)

Now- they have a couple of deals that you need to pay attention to:

12 buck Tuesdays: They run a deal that for 12 dollars you can get unlimited bumper boats and mini golf OR for $20 you get unlimited bumper boats, mini golf, and go karts plus an one time pass for bowling or laser tag.

They also offer laser tag memberships for any age where you can choose your game name and get a discount on laser tag every time you come plus $3 games on Mondays.

Birthday Parties are also a hit at Fiesta Fun! They have several different packages and basically do all the work for you! If you are looking for a fun place for your child's next birthday party, go and check out their Birthday Packages!

Alright- for those of you dying to know about the Fiesta Fright, here are the details! Fiesta Fright is a 2 story haunted house and this is the 4th year is has been running. They recommend that you be 12 or older because they have had people literally run out crying! It takes about 15-20 minutes to go through, BUT this year they have a VIP pass that is a "skip the line pass" and you get to have additional access to the escape room hidden in the haunted house.

But wait! I have more good news! I am running a GIVEAWAY on Facebook  We will be giving away TWO FRIGHT PASSES for Fiesta Fright! Watch our Facebook closely so you do not miss out on this sweet giveaway!
