Make a DIY Valentine Wreath for $10

By Gwendolyn Dattage, St. George Macaroni Kid Publisher - www.stgeorgeut.macaronikid.com January 24, 2019

When it comes to holiday decorating, I am your gal! My husband is always telling me that this is the year I will only decorate with everything I have in the hundreds of holiday storage boxes, and I just laugh. I have an itch to create that just doesn't leave, so with Valentines Day coming up, I have a few projects up my sleeve. If you are like me - then I have the perfect holiday project for you!

I love, love, love wreaths, and am always trying to come up with inexpensive ways to make them! This year I made my Valentine wreath for $10!

Here's how.

What you need:
*All the items you need can be found for a dollar each. I already had tape and pipe cleaners at home, so if you don't have those you can make the wreath for $12.

2 cookie racks (you can get these for a dollar each)

2 Rolls of Tulle Ribbon

2 Rolls of thick ribbon

2 Rolls of thin ribbon

Valentine picks

Heart, or sign for your wreath

1 Pkg of pipe cleaners and tape (Cut pipe cleaners in half)

Instructions:

To make your wreath tape two cookie racks together. You can use as many as you want depending on how big you want your wreath- I used two. Take your ribbon and cut them into 3-4 inch strips, then tie one of each ribbon together with a pipe cleaner. Use all the ribbons to make lots of ribbon bunches, then use the left over tulle to make bunches of just the tulle tied together. Tie them to the rack and interchange the triple ribbon bunches with the tulle-only bunches. I did this all around the edges, placed my heart in the center and filled in the empty space with the extra ribbon bunches. Once you have it assembled add any picks or additional decorations you want! Hang on your front door and enjoy your new wreath!

Feel free to use different colors, ribbon, additional decorations, and anything you want to make it your own! You can make a similar wreath with the circle or heart wreath forms if you are looking for something smaller or a little simpler.
